A banner hung in the Pomfret hockey locker room reads, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17) This verse has not only inspired growth in my life, but exemplifies the man I am becoming; a man of faith, service, and community. Twelve years of Catholic education and a religious family have provided my foundation.
St. Michael’s provides students the opportunity to look inside themselves and explore their own path to the greater good. This academic and spiritual environment is where I belong and where I will thrive. St. Michael’s offers the opportunity for me to grow deeper in my faith, participate in campus ministry, attend weekly mass, and engage in community service. I will strive to be a friend; one who is willing to be selfless and encourages all to be their best selves.
The small school feeling provides a tight-knit community where I will be supported by peers, known personally by professors, and excel in smaller class sizes. I am excited for the chance to build relationships with my professors at St. Michael’s and take advantage of their guidance outside of the classroom. I am eager to pursue my dream of being a collegiate student-athlete, be a team player, and grow individually through the values of sacrifice, accountability, and leadership. St. Michael’s will prepare me for the next chapter of my life and I will leave a positive mark on its community and the people it serves.
