What interests me the most about Saint Michael’s College are the wonderful opportunities both on campus and abroad. On campus, I am really excited about the Saint Michael’s Fire and Rescue program. Throughout high school I have been part of Vashon Island’s Fire and Rescue Explorers program, as well as part of Camp Blaze, a Firecamp for young women. I’d love to continue this work in college and beyond, and Saint Michael’s college is the best place for me to achieve that. Saint Michael’s incredibly welcoming community made me feel at home as soon as I stepped onto the small and cozy campus. Internationally, I would love to do some studying abroad. Saint Michael’s College offers so many wonderful programs in all corners of the Earth, and I can’t wait to be part of one. While touring the school this summer, I heard about a trip to Cuba that really piqued my interest. Not only could I get the chance to visit a country that relatively few have had a chance to experience first-hand, but I could also study effect of the sudden increase of tourism to the island on the coral reefs surrounding Cuba and its ecosystems. I hope I get such a chance, and look forward to what I can accomplish with Saint Michael’s College.
